Server Guidelines

By joining Three Sides Chicago, you agree to follow all community and in-game rules. These guidelines exist to maintain a serious, realistic, fair, and enjoyable roleplay server.

The Administration Team may use their discretion when handling situations enforcing these rules. Claiming that you did not read or understand the rules will not excuse a violation. Administration must also lead by example and follow these rules.

✶

Disciplinary Actions

These punishments are general guidelines. Every situation is different and will be reviewed based on its severity, evidence, and the player's previous history.

  • Class A: Verbal warning, written warning, admin jail, or an 8–12-hour ban.
  • Class B: 1–6-day ban.
  • Class C: 7–21-day ban.
  • Class D: Permanent ban with the possibility of an appeal.
  • Additional consequences may include a character wipe, asset removal, faction strike, faction removal, or permanent removal from the discord and or server.
✶

Community Rules

01Respect and Conduct

All Three Sides Chicago members must treat one another with respect.

The following behavior is prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted personal attacks.
  • Racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, or other forms of discrimination.
  • Excessive toxicity, name-calling, shaming, or disrespect.
  • Encouraging other members to break community rules.
  • Leaking another person's private information.
  • Threatening to expose, harm, or intimidate another member.
  • Harassing players in-game because of an out-of-character disagreement.
  • Creating drama across Three Sides Chicago platforms.
  • Using "that is just my character" as an excuse for inappropriate behavior.

Consequences: Any punishment class depending on severity, including permanent community removal.

02Terms of Service

All members must follow the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines of:

  • FiveM and Cfx.re
  • Rockstar Games
  • Discord
  • Twitch, Kick, YouTube, Tiktok or any other platform used within the community

Your character must have a realistic name and may not violate platform rules.

Consequences: Any punishment class depending on severity.

03Language Requirement

English must be used during all public roleplay interactions so that everyone involved can understand the scene.

Private conversations in another language are allowed only when they do not interfere with an active roleplay situation.

Consequences: administration discretion.

04Stream Sniping

Using a livestream, video, Discord call, or any other outside source to locate a player or obtain in-character information is strictly prohibited.

Attempting to enter a streamer's scenario without a legitimate in-character reason may also be considered stream sniping.

Consequences: Class C or Class D.

05Reports and Staff Decisions

Reports must remain professional and respectful.

  • Do not argue during an active administration situation.
  • Follow all administration instructions.
  • Do not leave an administration situation without permission.
  • Do not contact multiple administration members hoping for a different decision.
  • Do not bring unrelated or previously handled situations into a new report.
  • False reports or edited evidence are strictly prohibited.
  • Administration decisions may be appealed through the proper appeal process.
  • Do not use threats, harassment, or public drama to dispute a punishment.
  • If another player breaks a rule, remain in character and report the situation afterward.

Rule violations do not automatically void a roleplay scene. Only administration may void or restart a scene.

Consequences: Class A through Class D depending on severity.

06Refunds and Purchases

All purchases, donations, whitelist packages, queue packages, and other server-related transactions are subject to Three Sides Chicago posted refund policy.

Unauthorized chargebacks or payment disputes may result in removal from the community and loss of purchased benefits.

Purchasing an item or package does not exempt anyone from the rules.

07Real-World Trading

Real-world trading is strictly prohibited.

Players may not buy, sell, or trade in-game money, vehicles, weapons, properties, businesses, items, services, or characters for real-world money or anything outside the server.

Example: Giving another player a vehicle in exchange for Cash App, PayPal, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or Discord benefits.

Consequences: Class D and possible asset removal.

✶

In-Game Rules

00Administrative Discretion

Administration members may punish behavior that damages another player's experience or goes against Three Sides Chicago's serious-roleplay environment, even when the exact behavior is not specifically listed in the Guidelines.

Administrative discretion must be based on evidence, context, and the overall effect of the situation.

Consequences: Any punishment class depending on severity.

01Common Courtesy

All players must contribute to a fair and enjoyable roleplay environment.

The following is prohibited:

  • Combat logging or disconnecting, including false crashes to avoid roleplay.
  • Refusing or repeatedly avoiding roleplay.
  • Intentionally stalling an active situation.
  • Failing to roleplay injuries properly.
  • Refusing to roleplay a vehicle crash when appropriate.
  • Using bugs or synchronization issues as an advantage.

  • Abusing server mechanics to avoid consequences.

Combat logging may result in an automatic 21-day ban.

Metagaming is using out-of-character information for an in-character advantage.

Examples include:

  • Reading information in Discord and using it in-game.
  • Watching a livestream to locate or identify another player.

  • Communicating through Discord or another outside application during an active scene.
  • Sharing information between your own characters.
  • Identifying masked players without a valid in-character reason.
  • Recognizing someone only by their voice when their identity is reasonably concealed.
  • Using another player's screen or stream to gather information.

All in-character communication must happen through approved in-game systems.

Consequences: Class C.

03Powergaming

Powergaming is forcing unrealistic actions onto another player, performing impossible actions, or abusing mechanics to gain an unfair advantage.

Examples include:

  • Forcing a result without allowing the other player to respond.
  • Using /me or /do to automatically win a situation.
  • Communicating locations or detailed information while unconscious.
  • Roleplaying items that are not actually in your inventory.
  • Stomping a downed player only to monitor their health.
  • Using an emote or animation to enter locked areas.
  • Carrying, escorting, or placing someone into a vehicle through walls or objects.
  • Escaping restraints without a valid mechanic or roleplay opportunity.
  • Ignoring realistic physical limitations.
  • Canceling an emote mid animation, or abusing keybinds.

The /me and /do commands should support roleplay, not determine outcomes unfairly.

Consequences: Class B.

04Random Deathmatching and Vehicle Deathmatching

Random Deathmatching

Random Deathmatching, or RDM, is attacking or killing someone without sufficient interaction, escalation, or a valid roleplay reason.

Examples include:

  • Attacking a player without any prior roleplay.
  • Provoking an unnecessary fight only to kill someone.
  • Entering another group's conflict without involvement or justification.
  • Using minor insults as an immediate reason to shoot someone.
  • Starting violence only because you are bored.
  • PVP matches, and or provoking in green areas.

Vehicle Deathmatching

Vehicle Deathmatching, or VDM, is intentionally using a vehicle as a weapon without a valid roleplay reason.

Accidental collisions are not automatically VDM. Staff will consider intention, context, and the player's actions before and after the collision.

Deathmatch Mentality

Players may not constantly search for reasons to fight or shoot others. Characters should have stories, motivations, relationships, and realistic limits.

Consequences: Class A through Class C.

05Robbery and Scamming

Robberies and scams must remain in character, realistic, and properly escalated.

  • You must have a valid roleplay reason to rob someone.
  • You may not rob someone simply because you saw them standing in a wealthy area.
  • You may not force someone to withdraw money from a bank or ATM.
  • You may not force someone to transfer ownership of a vehicle, business, or property.
  • You may only take items currently available through supported server mechanics.
  • You may not rob emergency-service equipment from police officers or medical personnel.
  • You may not rob players performing basic scripted jobs, EX: garbage collection.
  • You may not rob or scam inside a designated green area.
  • You may not rob player-owned businesses while they are operating unless specifically allowed by server rules.

  • You may not loot a dead or unconscious player without being involved in the situation.
  • Chain robberies and repeated robberies without meaningful character development are prohibited.
  • Splitting a group across the map to manipulate police presence is prohibited.
  • Out-of-character knowledge may not be used to select robbery targets.
  • Illegal purchases must use the payment method required by the server system.

Scams may not exceed $50,000 in total value. Vehicles, businesses, and properties may not be scammed.

A player may only initiate one major robbery every four hours unless a separate robbery rule states otherwise.

Consequences: Class A or Class B, including asset removal when appropriate.

06New Life Rule

When your character respawns after being killed, they must forget the events that directly caused their death.

You may not:

  • Return to the location of your death to continue the situation.
  • Retrieve property from the scene immediately after respawning.
  • Contact friends and give them information about your killer.
  • Hunt down or retaliate against the person responsible.
  • Create another character to take revenge.
  • Use recordings or outside information to recover forgotten memories.

If your character is medically revived, you may remember the situation but must roleplay your injuries properly.

Characters who are permanently killed may not return under a new identity solely to continue the same conflict.

Consequences: Class B.

07Abuse of Game Mechanics

Players may not abuse GTA or FiveM mechanics to gain an unrealistic advantage.

  11. Job centers and other beginner activity locations.
  12. Any location marked as a green area on the map.

Green Area may not be used to escape an active situation. If a scenario legitimately began outside the green area, entering one does not automatically end the scene.

Camping outside a green area to target players is prohibited.

Consequences: Class B.

Players must realistically value their character's life.

You must:

  • Treat serious injuries and dangerous situations realistically.
  • Follow reasonable demands when you are clearly at a disadvantage.
  • Value the life of a hostage.
  • Avoid recklessly entering situations where death is nearly guaranteed.
  • Show reasonable fear when threatened with a weapon.
  • Consider the safety of your character before acting.

You may have an opportunity to resist when:

  • You are inside a functioning vehicle and can safely escape.
  • The attacker becomes distracted.
  • The attacker's view is completely obstructed.
  • You already have a weapon drawn and are in a reasonable position to defend yourself.
  • You are no longer clearly outnumbered or disadvantaged.

Having a possible opportunity does not guarantee that every attempt is considered realistic.

Consequences: Class B.

11Illegal Activities

Criminal activities are limited to four actively involved players unless a specific rule or approved faction operation allows otherwise.

  • Civilians may not participate in official faction attacks.
  • Faction members may not disguise faction attacks as civilian conflicts to avoid faction rules.

Information and assets may never be transferred between your own characters.

If one character permanently dies or leaves a faction:

  • Your new character must begin as a completely separate person.
  • The new character may not be related to the previous character.
  • The new character may not inherit the previous character's rank.
  • The new character may not continue old grudges or relationships automatically.
  • The new character must build their own reputation through roleplay.

  • Distributing restricted weapons or ammunition.

Players may not hold conflicting government positions at the same time unless management approves it.

Consequences: Any punishment class, department removal, character wipe, or permanent ban.

14Vehicle Price Agreement

Player-to-player vehicle sales must follow realistic pricing.

A vehicle may be sold for no more than $50,000 above its original dealership price, unless management has approved a different value for that specific vehicle.

Example: If a vehicle originally costs $200,000, it may be sold for no more than $250,000.

Players may not use vehicle sales to transfer large amounts of money between characters or bypass other economy rules.
